Sorry about test one.  I'm crossing everything for you for test two!

Sorry you didn't pass this time.  It took me 6 times until I did!  I failed on my reverse around the corner twice.

Good luck on your next one, and remember, it's not that you can't drive, it's that you aren't 'playing the game' the way they want you to.

Thanks guys!  I've already booked my second test, so hopefull I'll pass that time.

I think it was my nerves that got the best of me.  It should be easier the second time because I'll know what to expect!

Just wish I hadn't told everyone at work! I was smart though - called my friend at work and told her, that way they can all gossip about it before I get back in tomorrow!!

Aw sorry about that. I know I booked my second test asap just out of anger once I got back! The second time around is a lot easier. Good luck!!

My colleagues didn't even know I was taking lessons. Next thing they know, ta da! I have a car!!

Do you only take the test once if you pass? Is it good for your lifetime? It use to be?

Yes, thank goodness.  Every so often in recent years there have been rumors of proposals to re-test older drivers, but nothing has ever come of it yet.

If you've passed a U.K. test before but gave up your license when emigrating, then you can just apply for a new license upon returning, with no need for a re-test.   I didn't even have to do that when I came back to England, as I never sent back my U.K. license which at that time was valid until one's 70th birthday.  I just sent it in for a change of address.

going for second test tomorrow.

would have passed my first one with flying colours but didn't know about those things called Unmarked Junctions and that you are supposed to observe them.  it just never came up in my lessons!  I was gutted but so was the examiner who said it really upset him to have to fair me since i could clearly drive, and drive much better than most the people he has to pass.

I just hope that the test tomorrow goes as well as the first... with the exception that I observe the unmarked junction!!

what does that mean as I'm going in for my theory test tomorrow?  I haven't heard of that one, but if it's something big enough to make you fail on it's own, it must be important!

There's so much on my plate at the moment.  I really don't want to deal with license stuff, please pass on any wisdom.

Unmarked junction -- An intersection which has no lights, stop/give way signs, or any other equivalent markings on the road to indicate priority.
