And don't forget black olives on each finger.  http://farm1.static.flickr.com/97/206772847_20220fd4d3.jpg?v=0

And handprint turkeys.  http://www.bobzyeruncle.com/archives/images/HandTurkey.jpg

It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without them.   :)

I wonder if you'll be able to see the parade online at all?

There used to be a web cam site that you could see it from.  At least the Macy's one.

We never decorated too much to be honest. Window clings when we were kids, etc but we would have some sort of  small center piece, fall colored flowers, or something we made at school like cornicopia things lol, it was more about the food covering the entire table LOL!

I miss making hand turkeys!! They are the best!

Y'all are making me hungry!  Does anyone know a restaurant in London that will serve Thanksgiving dinner?

Trying to decide if I want to cook a full on turkey Thanksgiving dinner myself this year...or maybe I will get an invitation from someone who is...  ;) ;D

I'm going home for Thanksgiving and plan to cook everything at my mom and dad's. I'm not sure if either of my brothers will be their on Thursday, but I think they will both be there on Friday so I will make a big bird and make sure there are a lot of leftovers. I like to make the pies too, but I might just buy them from Marie Callendar's.  :)

For those of you used to cooking up big Thanksgiving feasts, what parts of the meal do you cook ahead (either to put in the freezer or fridge ahead of time) to save time/stress on the actual day?  What kind of things (traditional dishes) lend themselves more easily to that?

I cook the cranberry sauce ahead and do all the baking (pies and date nut bread) the day before, plus I make the stuffing the night before.

Thanks Mindy!  I seem to remember my grandma used to make up & freeze some of her pies (fruit pies) and plain blind-baked pie crusts ahead of time - part or wholly baked, but I can't remember exactly.  I'm sure she also made dinner rolls ahead of time & froze those for reheating on the day.

I'm just interested to see how everyone does their 'plan of action' so to speak, in case I ever end up doing anything.

Pies are always better the next day!

I'm not sure about anything else as I've actually never made Thanksgiving dinner.  :-[
