This is TOO Far

I can't believe the quest for the almighty dollar has led people - even people in television - to sink this low.

They are CHILDREN.  >:(

My dad told me about this show the other day. It boggles the mind. I wonder why they thought they should use kids that young.

Child Services should be looking into each and every idiot who signed away guarantees of their child's safety.  This is really unacceptable.  I cannot believe no one has stopped it.

I absolutely agree 100%.

I agree this is disturbing, I believe Social Services didn't shut it down because they were told that it was basically a summer camp.  I am not sure if the producers will be investigated after the show is out, I had heard rumors about it.

As for things parents do to their kids, one of my friends was sent to a "high school" in Mexico where no one spoke English, they were only allowed to call home twice a year, and they were often locked in cells.

Because she stayed out of the house past curfew, twice.  I believe the specific school has been shut down now.

Slate has some interesting documents relating to the whole shebang, including the parental agreement.

I believe these parents are similar to parents that drag their kids from audition to audition hoping to make them famous or the next Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan. The parents are not looking out for their kids, they are greedy and want fame for their children since they cannot get it themselves.

Quite a strong opinion, but off the cuff, this is what I thought.

Has society gotten so desensitised that the forbidden experiments are now common place.  How. sad.

I wonder if 20 years down the road they will show this footage like they do with the guard/prisoner experiment as the forbidden experiment.

What in the hell are wrong with these people. I can believe the entertainment world could come up with something so twisted and f#cked up because if it brings in a dollar they'll do it. But parents that actually sign their kids up for this should have their parental rights revoked.

The thought of my daughter being dropped off, confused, upset, having to fend for herself, ect. just makes my heart break. And parents put their kids in that situation - WTF!??

Words cannot describe the disgust and anger I have about this.
