Yes, that's true but make sure you check with your insurance company before you start driving. When I first arrived, my husband's insurance co. told us that I wasn't allowed to drive his car because they didn't cover foreign drivers, and as he'd already paid for the policy in full, I had to wait 6mo for the policy to run out before I could start driving. Insurance is different here. It's the driver(s) that's insured, not the car.
