Just went to the dentist, although it wasnt an NHS dentist because im still on the waiting list, it was private and i have no insurance.. but i didnt find the price THAT bad.

Ive not been to the dentist in nearly 3 years so i was gearing myself up for a load of cavities and hundred of pounds in dental work... but I got my checkup, 3 xrays done and a cleaning and it cost me £103.  I think that there was a £30 charge since i was a new patient though and they had to go through and make me a chart and look at my previous dental work.. but i was pleasantly surprised with the price.  I would gladly pay that price for the peace of mind i got today.  So, if you cant get a NHS dentist, most private dentists arent too overly priced either... i think my next check up will only cost around £32 for a cleaning unless i need x-rays.  And my dentist is really nice!

Heres a breakdown of the charge for those interested:
New Patient Examination: £30
3 small Radiograph (x-rays, £12 each): £36
Hygienist Visit (cleaning): £32
Clinical Compliance Charge: £5

OHH.. and the BEST part.... NOOOO CAVITIES! I thought i had one which is what made me go to the dentist in the 1st place.. but it turned out to just be a stain which was mostly removed from the cleaning.   ;D
