Hey all,
Just wondered if anyone has any experience with working tax and child tax credits. The system seems alittle antique! I am originally British so we are entitled to help with childcare for our two toddlers. I applied when we first got jobs in April, even though I wrote them a letter explaining that we moved over in February and we started work in April, they gave us back dated money for when we weren't in the country
![Huh ???](https://www.talk.uk-yankee.com/Smileys/classic/huh.gif)
so after several calls I got it straightened out and they are deducting the money I received from weekly payments.
They awarded me our amount of credit based on zero income as I had been told by them that as my earnings in 06 weren't in £ that I should put zero, so obviously my tax award is too much, I called and told them my current income and they put the new figures in and resent the award, but I have just reread the award and it says that they figured my income on nearly zero and they would use the figures I gave them next April??? I am afraid this will mean next year I will owe them alot back or they will deduct against my payments and my childcare costs will be outrageous.. What an awful system... Anyone else had any experiences with them??
