Waitrose! Libby's Canned Pumpkin...
« on: October 02, 2007, 05:00:55 PM »
...can be found in the ice cream aisle.  Looked down to Haagen Dazs, looked up to Libby.

It may not be carried in all Waitrose's, but it's worth checking out.  Thought I'd pass on the good news as it's an item we all seem to want but have a hard time finding.

It's seasonal, so if you see it and know you're going to need it in the next year buy it. :)

Some have it year round, mine does not.  But they do have it at Thanksgiving.

Pumpkin pie, pumpkin roll, chocolate ship pumpkin bread, and pumpkin turkey chili.  They all turned out really good, except the pumpkin roll was a little too moist.

Canned pumpkin was the one thing that I brought plenty of with me when we moved. I have this wonderfull weight watchers pumpkin chocolate chip cookie recipe that I love and knew that I couldn't live without.  :P

I have an oven dock.  It is very handy.  :)

I also made pumpkin cookies from a recipe that I found on here.  They were great.

I don't have a Waitrose anywhere near me so have no access to tinned pumpkin, but every year I make sweet potato pie instead which has turned out to be very popular!  :)

Went to my Waitrose yesterday, found only 3 cans of Libby's on the shelf...bought 2 (now I'm kicking myself--should've taken them all!!).  Baked the pie last night and OMG it was beautiful!!!  DF loved it, too.   ;D

Note to self:  Get to Waitrose & buy all the Libbys tinned pumpkin in sight!
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

Yes!  I often exchange sweet potato for pumpkin, and it's all good.   :)

I would have never thought to look there!  I checked the canned fruit and veg aisle, and the baking aisle, but not there.  Waitrose is getting a visit from me..... [smiley=iloveyou.gif]
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.
