New Wii, anyone else?
« on: October 03, 2007, 08:37:11 AM »
Yesterday we got a wii into our house.  Now the question is what do we need to get for it?  We already have a second set of standard controllers, the sports game, Resident Evil 4, and Big Brain Academy.  Anyone have ideas on what they have played or deem worthy of spending money on?  Thank you in advance.

Thank you!  I was wondering about the Wario one.  It is nice to get another female's opinion, most I have found online are male so they are the killing games and not the platform games.  You have made my day as it is payday, so time to build the collection!

we've got the wario one which hubs loves ..I bought the Play! because you get a controller that way we could have two controllers . Also got Raving Rabbids which is a fun party game.
But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

Ask away. I have all the consoles including handheld and love many different genres. The only games I won't play are Fifa and Pro Evo

Rabbids is terribly addicting!  They were and still are out of Play!.  I guess I will have to keep trying.  I am limiting myself to buying games now until I beat one that I already own.  Thank you again for your recommendations.  I have Warioware Smooth Moves on my to buy list, also thinking about Mario Galaxy and Super Paper Mario.  See why I have to limit myself?  We own Brain Academy, Raving Rabbids, Grim Adventures, Harry Potter, and Sports. That is a base to build on for now.

I've only got Wii Sports, Wii Play and Rayman but am hoping to expand my collection.  I'd really like to get Zelda.  I'd like to see what Tiger Woods '08 is like as well as Fifa '08.  I've heard you have to move the hand controls around, sideways and such for Fifa, I can't imagine what it'd be like.  You'd think they'd come out with some sort of control that wraps around your foot.
I've heard Boogie is supposed to be good.  I've also heard that a Star Wars game is supposed to come out soon.
So many to choose from, so little money!

I haven't played it yet, but Paper Mario is supposed to be great.

We just bought ourselves one for Christmas so we're stocking up on games to play once it's unwrapped. I just emailed my gadget writer friend yesterday (he's also a BAFTA games judge so he knows his stuff!) for recommendations on games for "the short attention spanned that aren't FIFA-esque or shoot-em-ups".  :)

He came back with:
Quote
Guitar Hero III is supposedly coming on Wii

Rayman Raving Rabbids I or II are great party mini-games

Trauma Center: Second Opinion is basically interactive Operation

Super Paper Mario's great too, but more in-depth. As is Metroid Prime
3: Corruption.
Summer 97 - first visited friends in London

Feb 02 - moved to London on BUNAC
Sep 02 - WP granted (IT skills shortage list)
Sep 04 - WP renewed
Sep 06 - WP renewed again (screwed by 4-5 year ILR change)
Sep 07 - ILR!
March 09 - Citizenship!
July 09 - bone marrow transplant :(
18 Sep 10 - wedding!
Mar 12 - half marathon in Paris! 1:47:12!
Oct 12 - Amsterdam FULL marathon! 3:48:23!

Thankfully it is my birthday soon and I can ask for some for gifts.  I told my fiance about guitar hero and he said just use a tennis racket.  Somethings he will never understand!

And Cooking Mama too.

Is that any good? We got a Wii about six months ago, but neither of us really enjoys it very much. My bf played with it for an hour or so, but I lost interest after about 10 minutes. We haven't touched it since then. The concept seems good, but in practice I think I just find it all a little boring. Cooking Mama sounds like fun, but I don't want to buy it if I'm going to be bored with it within minutes. Please sell me on Cooking Mama!  :)

You could always rent some games and see what you like.  Or sell your Wii to me :).
