Thanks Aless - definitely believe in walking before we run...when we've considered menu additions we limit our focus to simple things that can be easily added to our food line, without compromising our service. We have currently four pans in the hot well not in use, and one tortilla press not in use - we were thinking ahead when we spec'ed the equipment out :) And thanks for the point about the temp - we're raising the temp on the hot well today so that should help, and we'll lower the temp on the drinks fridge...

Also saw a few comments throughout thread about us expanding...while it certainly would be great to serve more of london it's much too early for us... first order of business is making sure the experience from the food, to service, to atmosphere, is absolutely top-notch...

Please let me know when you're in again...just ask for me.... and please, please, please keep the feedback coming.

Eric, although im in Scotland, and not likely to be able to eat at your place, I wish you all the best for your business.  Proper Mexican food is so hard to find in the UK, so if all these reviews are accurate... well done you!   ;D

Thanks Q-G... well if you are in London pay us a visit...we'd love to hear what you think, no matter how long it is from today.

Congratulations Eric!  Sounds like you have a hit on your hands ;D  I'm hoping to persuade my husband to take the trip into London sometime soon. (We are in Surrey)

I am a Californian who has never been to a Chipotle so I don't get all that hype, but Mucho Mas does a good job as being a corner taqueria!  :)

I had a grilled chicken burrito with a side of chips and guacamole. The portion was just like home and looking around the room most people devoured it all! The chicken, pico de gallo, chips and guac were delicious. The food really tasted fresh and had a great flavor. The guacamole has corriander in it which isn't a bad thing, just very noticable when having it with pico de gallo too or if you aren't all that wild about it.

My only complaint was that my rice was cold.

I had this complaint too. I went mid day and tray was in the warmer so I didn't expect it to be. I also thought the rice tasted more like it was ready for a curry than a burrito but all of the other yummy ingredients inside helped me ignore that part.  ;)

I'd definitely make the trek from south London again.

Thanks Stacey - so far business has been great. Definitely come up one of these weekends... by the looks of your profile picture it looks like you have a little one... my 2 1/2 year old boy is often at the restaurant and we get quite a few moms, dads, and children in too, so you'd fit right in  :)

Olive - as for the comment regarding the rice we'll be on the case asap tomorrow - thanks for the feedback. And of course very happy to hear that the freshness and flavor of the food hit the spot for you!

Coming additions to the menu include more beans (pinto and possibly refried), some desserts, some soups (black bean and tortilla), naked burritos (no tortilla), and possibly even things like mini-quesadillas and tostadas (not 100% sure on those two but will at least test out as "specials" for a period to see how they go)... We're also thinking about adding a cheese sauce to dribble over the fresh tortilla chips we cook on site.

Wow! Thanks por posting Eric!  :D

The additions to the menu that you've suggested would be great! Especially the refried beans and queso (which I love to have with nachos, mmmmmmm)!  :P

Will the pinto beans be vegetarian or made with bacon etc? I prefer non-veggie pinto beans myself.

Another couple of things that other people have mentioned that might be worth adding to your line-up are corn tortillas for your tacos, jalapenos (which I don't think you offer currently) and wedges of fresh lime?

Keep up the good work, you're doing an amazing job!

Check out UKTVFood's "Market Kitchen" if you get the chance. I'll be appearing together with Tana Ramsay (Gordan Ramsay's wife) as the last segment of the show - I'm told it will air on Oct 25th. During the segment we talk very briefly about the restaurant before I go through a simple recipe for a tasty chicken burrito. I had to leave the rice out as we didn't have time, and kept some other things super simple for viewers (like the beans). I've never done something like that so I have no idea how the segment will turn out, but keeping fingers crossed... it's only thanks to all the positive reviews from people that they even contacted us in the first place... so thanks again everyone...

I'm so gutted that I missed this!   :\\\'(

Do you know if this will ever be shown again?

Better still, do you have a copy of the footage that you could upload to You Tube or something? I'm dying to see your burrito making madskillz in all their glory!  ;D

Just to chip in Eric, I noticed the thing about the rice being a bit on the cold side the last time I was in, which was in early October.

I hope you've managed to resolve all your temperature issues now!  ;D

Hey jodrell - I have a copy of the TV appearance which I'll make available to everyone soon...it was so, so much fun :)

Thanks for comments/questions....some answers:
1) corn tortillas - we're on the case and are talking with our supplier now...we'll need to sample the product before offering of course
2) jalapenos - were you thinking fresh or the typical pre-sliced ones? We're trying to keep everything fresh at the restaurant, but fresh jalapenos are not easy to come by here in the UK
3) wedges of fresh lime - we have them! :) we offer them with our beer but of course they can be served with the tacos too
4) pinto beans - I'm thinking a bacon flavoured recipe...and keeping the black beans completely veggie of course

This week we have two new desserts - churros and vanilla creme flan :)

We've alse trialed some nachos, but need to make some further adjustments to our queso  sauce...

ok time for bed... I have quite a few burritos to make tomorrow  ;D

Eric, someone just posted this on another thread www.southdevonchillifarm.co.uk, can't have good Mexican without fresh peppers.  Any restaurants in the Manchester area? Good luck!

Thanks Sadie...and totally agree regarding the peppers... that's why we only use fresh ones :)

They're not peppers... they're chillies!  ;)

Peppers are gross, chillies are brilliant!
