Welcome! I'm yet another Californian (from Anaheim via San Francisco) living in the UK with her British spouse. While I still very much miss my family and friends (but e-mail, visits, and webcams help loads), living over here is a wonderful opportunity to explore a new country and culture. You absolutely can do this, but if you need any advice, a shoulder, anything, drop me a line!  :)

Best of luck with the move!

Hey Laurelei, I'm from the Anaheim area.  I was actually born there.  Live not too far from there now.  Thank you for the welcome and thank you to everyone else also.  I'm slowly getting everything ready to move.  And I was trying desperately to convince myself that I can do this but I read the post of Americans being harassed at work simply because they are American, so now I'm a little...well...a lot more worried than before.  But I can do this...I think.  ;)

Small world--I was born in West Anaheim General. I think that's still the hospital's name now...

I won't lie and say it's not different, but you can do it. It takes a bit of time and determination, but if you can adapt a "like me or don't--it's your loss if you don't" attitude (which I've had to do), there are plenty of folks over here who are only too welcoming and friendly. :)

Hi Kassie,

Its a big step you are taking moving to the UK, but I am sure you will not regret it. Us Brits are generally a friendly bunch of people  ;D  and I am sure you will make friends in the UK in no time what so ever.
Good luck!

Cas  :D

Yay, Laurelei :D Ok, I was born at Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital which I believe is now Anaheim Memorial West...and you were born and West Anaheim General ;D Little confusing, but I think they're about 10 minutes from each other.

I'm always really proud of the city I was born in :).  It was fun taking Craig to Disneyland a couple months ago when he was here.  I turn into a little kid and get so happy when I go to Disneyland ;D I was afraid he wasn't going to feel the same.  Turns out he had a lot of fun.  He kept asking when we were going to go back, then listing all the rides he had to go on again before he left.  Plus, I got him liking the Angels [smiley=laugh4.gif] I mean, I REALLY got the Brit into liking baseball.

Thank you though for the words of encouragement Laurelei and Cas. And especially thanks for being honest.  I know it isn't going to be all roses when I get there, but I'm hoping I can deal with everything that is thrown at me.  Including people.

Yay Britwife :D  Does that mean Craig and I won't be the only ones staying up late Sundays watching Angels games? ;D

That's right, your baby is due in Sept :D Oh, I'm so excited for you! Like I said, great month ;D
I know of a website you might like.  Its in the states so I'm not sure if they ship
worldwide, but let me know.  Then again, you might already know of a website. :)

Absolutely! I'm not one of those people that minds watching baseball on tv.  Actually I like it.  Your husband sounds the same way.  It always bothers me when people say its boring on tv.  Granted I'd rather be at the game, but hey...

I too am from Cali...San Diego in fact. I met my husband at a party in Equinox(Leicester SQ) while being on a short holiday in London. We fell in love immediately, got engaged and married within three months and I moved to London three months after that. I never even thought about what I was doing and what I was giving up. To me it was all worth it. I have been here three years, and my husband is the one who keeps pressing me to move back to SD. Once you do it, you will also now that it will have been worth it. Good Luck!

Well been on here as long as kassie (kas_nut) and only my second post, but seeing as she's the one moving I guess she needs all the advice she can get  :) Just wanted to make a little note on the baseball posts, yes honey we WILL be going to London for a party. ANGELS ARE ON CHANNEL 5 MON 17TH MAY 1:05AM Sorry had to get that one out, missed the last game and couldn't eat for days, very tragic. Anyway, thanks to anyone and everyone for the support they've given Kassie I appreciate it and I know she definately does and i'll see some of you when the party starts ;)

Oh and honey, I love you  :)
I love you Kassie,
Yesterday,
Today,
Tomorrow,
Forever....

Welcome aboard Articwolf!  Good to have Kas_nut's other half here! I hope you are able to find things here to help you out and to help you if you need them!
