I went to Costco today, and this is what i bought:

big pack of chicken thighs
big tub of Belgian chocolate chips (for fudge-making!)
big box of Krusteaz milk choc chip cookie mix
6-pack of Chicken of the Sea white tuna
big jar of Skippy
6-pack of Veeta microwave basmati rice in tubs

All for only £27... not too shabby!   Those chicken thighs i split into 6 baggies of 3 thighs each, so that's 6 meals each we are getting from those (DH eats 2 thighs and i eat 1) for only a fiver!

Oh, and if you are a blonde woman with an American accent, with a Scottish man, looking at the 12-packs of bean & cheese burritos in the freezer section... i saw you!  :)

Good for you! I never spend less than £100 when I go. We spend the most money on booze and cupcakes  ;D

if they accepted credit cards, i'd be spending £100 a time in there.
unfortunately, it's only cash or debit cards they take, so that puts the brakes on me big-style.

That's the thing that makes me laugh, then Costco in the states accept American Express credit cards.   :P

Yes, Costco is like visiting a little bit of home.

We go once a month and DH and I make a date out of it.

Ours is in Derby.

The best thing I got at Costco was the most enormous bottle of Listerine that has actually lasted the 18 year old longer than 5 minutes.  I swear she drinks it like water.

Sounds like my husband!   :P  I think I'll have to keep an eye out for it next time we go...

Their enchilladas are lovely and done with pulled chicken!

How much is a Costco membership?  And is it worth going if you don't have a car?  Do they have many "bus-able" items?

It's about £25/year.  I can't see it being of any use if you're relying on public transport.  You'd have to get a taxi home as most of the products come in huge quantities.  Otherwise, you'd end up taking a 5-gallon tub of olive oil home on the bus.   ;)

That's the thing - I let our membership expire because we never went.  DH hates to go & I don't drive here (yet).  But just wait until I get my full UK licence... (on my list of projects for next year)

And yeah - it's best to stay away from places like Costco (& Ikea) at the weekends.

It depends on what you call bus-able. Recently I saw a couple putting a fence panel onto a bus...
