Travelling

Where have you traveled too since moving to the UK?  One of my main reasons to want to move over there is the opportunity to travel with my family and expereince different cultures.

We've been to France (Brittany, Paris, Disneyland Paris, Normandy), Holland, Belgium, Spain(Mallorca), Ireland and all around the British Isles.  It's a huge advantage of living here. :)

I live in England & have lived here 3 1/2 years.  I've been to Amsterdam twice (Netherlands/Holland), Antwerp (Belgium), Spain (Barcelona, Madrid, Segovia, Toledo, Figueres, Malaga, Granada, Almeria, San Jose area & Las Alpujarras area) three times, Edinburgh (Scotland), Paphos (Cyprus), and Paris (France).

I like naming the cities/areas, because particularly if you go to a large European country like Spain or France -- the different cities & regions therein can be quite different from each other. :)

We've lived here just over a year now and have been to Egypt, France, Italy, Belgium, and Ireland.

We have a Christmas trip booked to Spain and Portugal and just today I booked a June/July 2008 tour through Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany and the Netherlands!

Grrr... I don't get to go anywhere. That's what comes of having a self-employed bf who hasn't had a proper holiday in 20+ years.

Since I moved here to be with my husband, Wales.  Boooo for no big trips. But when I went to university here I went all over.

Yes, but not with the bf ... and I'd much rather have gone with him. Holidays with friends are few and far between 'cause most would rather go with their own menfolk!

We've been to Ireland a few times.  Ireland is where we met and we both are students of Irish music.  We've got mutual friends there and are planning another trip this winter.

Thank goodness Mike is a teacher--a career that comes with built-in holidays!  I'll happily go to Ireland by myself, but he is my best friend and I'd rather explore new (and old) territory with him.
