Jet Blue (With 19 month old)
« on: October 11, 2007, 04:46:35 PM »
We will be flying Jet Blue from New York to Puerto Rico in Dec/Jan.  Just curious if anyone has flown them?  I've heard loads of good things about them in the past, but I don't think I know anyone who has actually flown them.

We will have Josh with us, how are they at bulkhead requests?  Is it possible?  We might get a seat for him, but not sure yet.  He usually wants to sit on our lap anyway on the plane so far.

I haven't flown with them in a few years, but they used to be a great customer-focused airline.  I've heard they've had some problems recently, but not sure if it affected their customer service.

Customer Service was great when I rang them to add Josh onto our flight.  Really nice and courteous and not a long wait at all.

What kind of problems?  Financial?

I've flew on JetBlue once, and really liked it. Full size cups of Dunkin Donuts coffee, great entertainment, and really friendly staff.

They did have some problems earlier this year (see the last bullet point under 'incidents and accidents at the bottom of the Wiki article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jet_Blue), but it would not put me off flying with them again. They definitely got some bad PR during that ordeal, but I think they have really tried to fix the problems.

Thank you Kate.  Wow, I had not heard that.  But TBH, I've had that happen on other Airlines before.  Not 9 hours, 6 or 7, but still.  It sucks, but I will not let that stop me. Thank you for pointing it out.

Now, Dunkin Donuts coffee, you are talking my language now! ;D

It's been a year or so since I've flown them but I've taken numerous trips with them and they are by far THE best airline I've ever dealt with. Comfortable, friendly and the greatest tv :) You'll love them!

My mom has flown them and loved them! They certainly aren't the only ones who had those long delays with people stuck on the tarmacs. Go for it!  :)

Thank you ladies!  I'm looking forward to it.

Do you pay for meals or are they provided?

Definitely the most comfortable airline I've flown.  And the staff did seem to actually enjoy their jobs.  (As an aside, they serve blue potato chips and the first time DH came to visit me in the US he asked for the chips as his snack.  He opened them up and wouldn't eat them because he was sure they were rotten.   ;D

I have never had a meal on their flights, possibly because I've only flown from Buffalo to JFK.  I know that they do provide drinks and and snacks though.

LOL!  Love it.

Cool, I'll search the site to see about meals.  At least I can get my D&D coffee ;D

They are my favorite airline ever.

They don't do any meals. There's usually a little cart with sandwiches near the gate, but those are hugely overpriced. You're best off bringing your own food.

They do give you really good snacks and drinks, though.

I've flown them loads of times between nyc and la, and between burlington and nyc.
Another shameless promotion for www.mclevey.com, the best place on the internet to buy art.

Great, thank you Jen!  I will remember to bring my own meals then.
