Sending money from uk to norway monthly cheapest way?
« on: October 12, 2007, 04:40:14 PM »
What is the cheapest way to send money every month?  I need to send around 250 pounds a month over to norway.  I was reading paypal and was confused about fees, rates and how long it takes to get there?

Since it is a change of currency it makes it more confusing to me

Hi Elizabeth1969,

There's a multitude of different ways to send money abroad - bank transfers, western union, taking cash with you on visits, travel company exchanges etc etc...

I'd suggest that using a currency exchange and transfer company would be the easiest way to do this...

Quite a few are mentioned on this board and used by a number of posters so direct feedback can be great.

Look for companies like Moneycorp and Hifx - they're well established and reputable. XE.com is mentioned quite a bit as well and may suit smaller amounts such as what you mention.

Don't discount places like Western Union and Escrow - they've had negative press becuase of the fact scammers use them, but they do provide legitimate services.

It is a minefield of options out there, I suggest you nip over to moneysavingexpert.com ad have look through the forums there for more posts dealing with this and your other one about getting loans and rates to compare etc.

Hope this helps!

Cheers, DtM! West London & Slough UK!
