By the way, does anyone have a good flan recipe? I've been thinking I'd like to learn to make it.

my dad has one.... starts with a dozen eggs and the rest I turned my ears off.  :o

  And horchata.  Mmm... horchata.

I wanted a horchata after eating at Mucho Mas last weekend!!

i've never heard of Horchata...  sounds lovely!

I grew up drinking it in LA.  Always reminded me of rice pudding in drink form :)
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

I haven't done this yet but I've had the idea in my head for a while to make dessert quesadillas with cream cheese and raspberries or blueberries and a little sugar as the filling.

YUM!

Which reminds me, a friend makes fruit burritos. Warm a tortilla, butter it and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, add chopped up fruit (berries, bananas, whatever), and drizzle with sour cream mixed with a little brown sugar.

at one of the little dive mexican restaurants (good food, just not flash in any way) they give you a little tiny cup of cantaloupe juice after your meal and they also have melon sorbet on the menu.  It is supposed to be really refreshing, but as I am allergic to melons, I haven't tried it.

In Mexico I had some sensational lime ice lollies with a hint of chilli.  This is a similar idea and looks really refreshing.  Nice Midwinter dishes too in the photo!
