I prefer The Barefoot Contessa.

Don't even get me started on her!  What a stuck up, pretentious cow!   >:(  And her husband...hello, henpecked!!!!

I quite like watching Barefoot Contessa sometimes but her "cooking" is all about the expensive ingredients, no special skill!  As for rachel ray ... I watched about 5 minutes the other day, didn't even realise it was a cooking show!

I think the RR show you get here in the UK is not her cooking show but her talk show with a bit of cooking thrown in at the end!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Pretentious cow... yes!   I definitely don't like Ina!
Why does she always, ALWAYS wear the same shirt, just in a different colour?

I dont think i've ever seen Rachel Ray, thankfully... she sounds like someone i wouldnt like.  I thought i was seeing her once, but it was a different Rachel... an Irish Rachel, who wasn't obnoxious.

Yeah, but at least she actually loves food!  ;D

But then, I'm not one who choses recipes based on 'healthy' - to me, all food is healthy, in moderation.

I like the Australian show that featured some amazing Turkish cooking one day - all of it was incidentally incredibly healthy, then Thai food, etc.

Rachel Ray, NO NO NO.

I'd rather be chained to chair and forced to watch this Ellie chick for all eternity than be subjected to a Rachel Ray weekend marathon.

i like the barefoot contesa- a bit- but i get the distinct impression that if something isn't organic, fresh, from a farmstand, mega bucks, she wouldn't get less than 2 ft from it.

i like jaime oliver for his infectious love of food.

For me, he falls into the category of: Like his recipes/Can't bear watching him.  :-\\\\

I've never seen this Barefoot Contessa woman, but I think I'll try watching just to see what I think.

I'll stick with watching James Martin.  Something for my eyes and my stomach there!

I'm with you on Ellie Krieger - I can't get past the irritation factor to see if I like the recipes or not! I absolutely cannot stand Rachel Ray. I hate her cutsey names for stuff (EVOO - GAG) and her voice just grates on me. I also don't think her recipes are particularly clever....

I actually really like the Barefoot Contessa. I probably wouldn't make many of her recipes, but I just enjoy watching her. And if I had her money I'd absolutely LOVE to have her lifestyle - gorgeous place in the Hamptons, lovely rich gay friends always popping 'round, fresh local ingredients all the time, dinner parties decorated by florist friends.... Perhaps a tad pretentious but I'm not going to pretend that I wouldn't take it if it was given to me!  ;)

I also like the guy on Something for the Weekend - Simon Rimmer I think his name is. I often print out recipes from that show. He also has a column in Good Food about what foods are in season.

Ellie is annoying, but her show is different. I wish there were more shows about making healthier food. I love Ina, but her recipes are so calorific, that I can't imagine eating like that very often.

He's not one of Ina's gay friends, is he?   ;) ;D

last night i was reminded of nigella. i realize/understand how some people may dislike her but she has an obvious love of food, and can easily laugh at herself.
