Pecans
« on: October 23, 2007, 09:18:53 PM »
Everybody has been going on about pumpkin, but what about pecans?  I don't mean an itsy little bag with barely enough to cover the palm of your hand, but a serious bag of pecans in the London area (don't have a Costco membership, can't get one either).
If you don't know where you're going, it doesn't matter what road you take.

Believe it or not, Tesco has the best price I've seen yet, even though the bags are small. The Asian store has 1 kg bags, but they're actually more expensive! I haven't checked Holland and Barrett, though.

I was just about to say I saw them at Tesco this morning! It was a 300g bag and they were about £3 I think, which seems a bit pricey to me but I don't know how much they are in the other shops that have been mentioned.

If you or someone you know has a membership at Costco - they have big bags of pecan halves for around 5 or 6 pounds which was the cheapest I could find over there.

Don't know anybody with a Costco membership and the one I had in the States expired several years ago.  Didn't find any in Holland and Barrett locally, but I'll see if I can find a Tesco somewhere reachable and check that out.  Maybe Wimbledon.
