I think it was Carolyn who gave me the idea for this... none of my English friends really get Christmas cookie baking. And DH and I love them, but can't eat loads of them. And I want to have lots of different types!!

We're going to DH's parents for Christmas but the last time I baked for them (8 different kinds!) they still ultimately would go for the packaged ones.  :-\\\\ They insisted on asking me if they could have one even though I left them by the kettle all day! It was such a letdown.  :(

I'm not entirely sure how it would work, but I thought I'd see if there is any interest first.

So, Calling all Christmas Bakers!!!!

You could have the neighbors round for a cookie festivus! :)

Maybe ...

I like an excuse for a Festivus of any sort!

I'll have to think about it. Balmerhon, put me down as a maybe for now.  :)

Put me down as a maybe too -- I can't think about anything like that until we get back from the US.

My marriage is safe now. I thought it was just my husband that had something against my world famous cookies. Before him if I wanted to make a man fall head over heels for me I baked cookies. Paul can't stand my cookies. It was demoralising our marriage. But this line of discussion is making me see that it is the Brit thing not me. Thanks...and count me in.

If there is anything going near or in London, I would be interested.

It's not a get-together. I was thinking more along the lines like the gift or card exchange. So you'd have to be willing to post your goodies. My personal thought was to have each person exchange with 2-3 others. So you'd get 2-3 kinds of cookies each. And I'm thinking that we should try to stick with recipes that do good size batches, or that can be cut into small pieces. So if I do a bar recipe, I'd cut it into 24 pieces and give each person 8. So the idea is not to get overwhelmed with numbers, but rather get a nice selection. And smaller parcels are cheaper to send, too.

But I'm open to other ideas, too. :)

What about including the cookie recipe with the cookies?

I'm always interested in getting more recipes!
