Oh yes!  I wouldn't be surprised if the anti-pepperite, anti-beanite, and anti-tomato-ite contingencies check in on this thread later... ;) :P ;D

I'm here!   ;)

I never, ever put peppers or tomatoes in chilli, and i won't eat chilli that contains those items!

I'd rather die than put kidney beans in chili. It's pinto or nothin'!!

I don't put the fresh chilies in, I just use dried chili powder and/or cayenne. I also throw in a bottle of beer and some worcestershire sauce. Oh, I don't do the peppers either, not because I don't like them, but because I just never thought to do it.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I make lots of different ones, chicken and white bean, mixed bean and ones using stewed beef.

Love chili!

I knew you'd show up! ;D

As for the beans or no beans (and a note on white beans!), this article explains a bit:

http://www.texascooking.com/features/oct2001chiliperformance.htm

I've put a bit of sugar in mine before too, but as the tinned pinto beans here all seem to have a bit of sugar in them -- I've come to leave the sugar out.  Sometimes I put a dash of lime juice in my chili now & that's tasty.

Putting baked beans in chili is just wrong, IMO. :)

When I made a white chili (chicken & white beans) including tomatoes -- as it's not really chili like I know chili to be...I gave it a new name:  Danish Chili!  (like the Danish flag)

I use tomatoes, but then I'm not going for authenticity. More like chary-ticity.  ;D

Our convenience store also has canned chile-non-carne.  I haven't tried it, but the ingredients sound good.

Instead of sugar, I usually add a carrot.

green chilli is the same, but made with salsa verde or similar.
