so glad you got things sorted.  similiar thing happened to me when i first moved here.  i hadn't regiserted with a dr, and woke up one morning peeing blood.  drove myself to the walk-in clinic- 30 mins later i walked out with free antibiotics.  i thought it was amazing how efficient and organized it all went.

hope you're feeling better- antibiotics usually clear up my UTI within hours!  (oh and also know that they sell diflucan over the counter here- in case that's a side effect of the antibiotics for you- it always is for me)
If you harbour bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I hope you are feeling better soon! Those infections can be quite nasty and make a person feel miserable; although what a relief to know that it isn't anything more serious and can be (usually) easily treated.

I'm very glad it wasn't your appendix! Hope you feel better soon! My sister is very prone to UTIs and I know it's not fun at all.

I'm glad you got it sorted out. I use to get frequent uti's. I figured out I was getting them whenever I drank cokes or ate too much sugar. I still get the sometimes, and I know how much they can suck! Drinking cranberry juice seems to help sometimes.

My sister found these powdered cranberry capsules I think at Whole Foods. She told me that she eventually gets sick of the taste of cranberry juice, so the capsules and great and she doesn't have to drink just juice all the time, she can drink water too.

It helps too if you get low sugar/natural cranberry juice, eat dried cranberries, and the cranberry pills (like becky said). I try to drink some cranberry juice every day.

Whew, glad it worked out for you! And at least now you know what to do if you ever have an emergency again (hopefully you won't)!

I had a UTI that came on in less than a day and was practically healed the day after!  Sometimes things come on us like that.  My boyfriend had appendicitis right before we met (operation and everything!).  He had similar symptoms, but apparently they were able to tell straight away what was wrong by asking him to raise his right leg.  It hurt like hell and he couldn't do it, which somehow told them it was his appendix!  So if you can raise your legs no problem, it's probably something else. ;D

Glad it's sorted & hope you're feeling better!  V lucky not to get it before Christmas.

I know you mean well, but please don't give medical advice without a license. Appendecitis is notoriously difficult for a layperson to diagnose correctly since there are so many things it could be. Person can have it and move their legs fine. Would you really want to give advice, be wrong, and have a person get into real difficulty as a result?
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"
