 rupert the bear
Paul, going back to saturday mornings, do you remeber Robinson Crusoe and that wonderful haunting theme tune

another british kids theme tune (some words  missing otherwise it would be far too obvious)

Get on board! Get on board!  Come and join the -------/-------
Take a ticket for a journey, on our double decker London bus.
Ring the bell (ding ding), Toot the horn (honk honk),
When you ride with the ------/-------
Fun and laughter is what we're after, on our double, double, double decker bus.
its a far better thing i do than i have ever done

I think so.   Wasn't it a kind of big string orchestra number, if that makes sense?   Just the right rhythm to go with pictures of rolling waves.

Here Come The Double-Deckers!

I adored that show when I was little:  Doughnut, Sticks, Spring, Scooper, Brains, Billie, and Tiger.  Not forgetting "Tiger as Tiger" too!  :)

Pink Panther  ?

A brand new light around the bend.. there were  times  lost a dream or two, found a trail and at the end  was you.

Who's The Boss

What would you do if I sang out tune?
Would you stand up and walk out on me?

I think that's the Wonder Years?

This one wasn't sung but spoken over music I won't say the first line as it will give it straight away but it was one of my favourite shows:

He awoke to find himself trapped in the past, facing a mere image that was not his own and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better...

Quantum Leap.

I was going to add a comment earlier that as we've had theme tunes where only the instrumental version was used on the show, we should certainly allow spoken words if they formed part of the regular opening sequence.   :)

Here's another (hint - this is one of several openings which were used for different seasons):

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man.   It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity.  It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge.

Bread

Once upon a summertime
Just a dream from yesterday
A boy and his magic golden flute
Heard a boat from off the bay
"Come and play with me, Jimmy
Come and play with me.
And I will take you on a trip
Far across the sea
Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

Come ride the little train that is rolling down the tracks to the junction,
Forget about your cares, it is time to relax at the junction.

Petticoat Junction

Hold a chicken in the air, stick a deck-chair up your nose
Buy a Jumbo-Jet, and then bury all your clothes
Paint your left knee green, then extract your wisdom teeth
Form a string quartet, and pretend your name is Keith.
Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

spitting image?

When we get together
We're always having fun
Laughing while we're learning and were singing
You never have to worry
Because we're here to say
That there's a new tomorrow for us every single day
