Nerja/Seville/Grenada tips?
« on: November 14, 2007, 03:29:47 PM »
Just booked 8 days there, now looking for restaurant/sightseeing tips.  Anyone been there recently?  The Alhambra is on our list, as is trying to eat our way through the tapas bars in Seville... and if anyone knows a good place to rent horses for a few hours, do tell!  It's way past time the husband learned to ride a bit.  Any info appreciated, thanks!

I went to Seville in 1994 and it was my first experience of Spain, but I felt that Cordoba, (which is a great day trip, about an 1 1/2 away) just absolutely embodied Spain for me.  Absolutely gorgeous if you have the time!

What time of year are you going?  We were there in April and I have this amazing memory of just sitting in an outdoor cafe smelling the orange trees!

We're going in December... so no orange blossoms for us.  Oranges, hopefully!  Will look into Cordoba.  We plan on using the rental car to the max!

We had 5 days in Granada back in 2003. The Alhambra is great. Try to get into a flamenco show if you can. We mostly just wandered around and explored. I'll have to ask DH if he can recall the restaurants we ate at.

From Granada we rented a car and drove through the hills back to Malaga (for the airport). That was awesome - stopping in little white hillside villages and eating tapas. Yum!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
