I'm curious about this no water thing. Once upon a summer break during college, I worked at Starbucks, and I only remember putting the syrup in, and then filling with milk, but perhaps my barista skills are rusty.

Yeah, that is how we did it when I worked at Starbucks during Uni.  Then when I went back after Uni, they changed it to where they dilute it with a bit of hot water. Blech!  Hence, no water Chai.  ;D
at Starbucks, a tall chai latte, with no water.

Thanks to those who taught me about the 'no water' thing!   :)

Brilliant, isn't it?  I had one last night as a treat from DH!  ;)  ;D  My usual order at Starbucks is grande non-fat, no water Chai.

Every morning I get a venti coffee with a splash of hot skimmed milk and about a dozen sweeteners.  ;D

This time of year I always get an eggnog latte. Any other time, I get a chai tea latte made with no water, like Q-G. Or I sometimes get just a regular latte. I always add turbinado sugar to mine. But since I only go to Starbucks or anywhere like that a few times a year, it's kind of a special treat.

I used to get a venti every morning when I worked at this huge corporation with a Starbucks across the street!

Those were the days.

Half and half and real sugar, though.

I don't drink (hot) tea or coffee so in winter I usually have a hot chocolate or maybe a herbal tea. In summer I have iced tea (if they figure out how to make it) or one of the fruity icey things they do at Starbucks.

The no water thing is asking the barista not to add the water to the chai that dilutes it some.  That is their typical recipe.  But, it is stronger and soooo tasty without the water.  ;D  Try it, you will love it!

I'm confused, I don't know what Starbucks means by Chai but where I come from it's just tea and is made with water.  If you took the water out, you'd just be left with tea leaves!

yes, but we're talking about a chai latte... and if you tell them no water, they make it with just hot milk and it's GORG!!  :)

So it's just tea made with milk then, or is it massala chai?

massala chai... but it's made with a sweetened tea-flavoured syrup, rather than tea leaves.
it is VERY nice, though!

I have to admit....I had a chai latte made once with no water and it was undrinkable. It tasted like condensed milk with the super sweet chai flavoring. I even tried to pawn it off on a friend and he would touch it. Maybe the Coffee Beanery made theirs different than Starbucks.

Before I started Weight Watchers my Starbucks was a Grande Mocha with Whip.

Now it's a tall-skinny-sugar free -vanilla-latte.

Nice enough, but not as good as a full fat mocha with whip!
What if the Hokey Pokey is what it's all about?

Starbucks: Hot or Iced Chai Latte or hot Zen Tazo Tea

I soooo miss Eggnog Latte's & would love it if my Dad & sis could bring one over for me for Christmas!   :\\\'(  Over here the seasonal Lattes are Gingerbread & Crème Brûlée.  Has anyone tried the Crème Brûlée is it any good?   :-\\\\

Costa: Caramel Hot Chocolate
