Ha ha.  The thing is most places just have the names on the menu with no explanation as to what the drink actually is.  Also, most people just won't ask.   :-\\\\  The only reason I know so much about espresso drinks is cause my first job was at Panera & I predominantly opened the bakery to lots of coffee loving people.   [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]  (*Sniff*  I miss Panera.)

well, first you have to know what Americano means. I had the same problem trying to order a black coffee for my dad last week while he was visiting.

I'm in Sheffield.  I honestly wouldn't be able to tell you if the Starbucks nearby are able to do them or not, as I'm not exactly straying too far from home at the moment.   [smiley=angel.gif]  I don't think Andrea's been onto this post at all - she'd possibly know if the Starbucks at Tudor Square has them or not.   :-\\\\

Yep, the Sheffield -Tudor Square Starbucks is definitely doing eggnog lattes.

They'll even do you a steamed eggnog (no coffee) if you fancy it.  ;)

No, not hard to find.  Just hard to order.  I miss going to Tim Horton's and just saying 'coffee'.  (Oh, and then 'please', as we're Canadians.)

But you don't just say 'coffee' at timmy's!  You say "I'll have a coffee double double" or "coffee double cream" or "coffee single milk"  if you don't say the additives, you don't get any!!  And yes, always the PLease and thank yous!!  And then they say thank you and then you say you're welcome ...

It's not hard to say, but hard to be understood. ;)
I complained about this constantly and he never believed me and always made a joke about the accent and not being understood until he tried to order me a coffee when I was in toilet.

There are so many cafe's that were closer to the house, but I always got frustrated so  I'd walk further to go to the Starbucks because there I wasn't asked 2 or 3 times to be sure I wanted BLACK coffee.

venti americano is my drink of choice...during the holidays I add cinnamon & nutmeg to be festive! ;D

Steamers aren't on the menu here (US) either. :)  I just ask for them.

For health reasons I'm off dairy now though **sniffle** so I'm going to try a soy steamer with the SF gingerbread.  I'm not sure how it will be. Boo.

I don't drink coffee (or hot tea!) but on particularly cold winter days in Boston I used to treat myself to a grande hot chocolate with extra whipped cream from Starbucks. :D

MMMM! The gingerbread latte at starbucks! I wait all year for that and I  finally found one around the corner from Trafalgar. I noticed all the starbucks here don't have them. I usually get them with soy and minus the cream and it is still beautiful!  ;D

Hmmmm... either a hot chocolate or a mocha.  If it's warm out an iced mocha, which is very yummy!
