He's going without you?  How dare he not sit at home and suffer with you!  Do I need to come over and give him a talkin' to? >:(

YES!  Better yet, just come hang out with me :P

I really do want to see this though.

I wasn't sure about this at first, tbh. I love (most of) Tim Burton's work and I think Johnny Depp is super, but I kept thinking "But it's a musical, which means it could turn out to be incredible...or it could all go terrible wrong and be crap". I was torn, though, because I A-D-O-R-E Alan Rickman and will see anything featuring him, regardless. But after reading a few reviews and this thread, I think I shall go and see it! I'm excited now ;D
It was most definitely...a THING.

Has anyone else seen this yet?

I finally did with a friend and was disappointed with it. I didn't think the hype lived up to the end product.  But Helena BC gave an amazing (acting) performance.

I thought Mr. Depp was fabulous.  But, then, in my eyes he can do no wrong. :)

Ditto for Mr. Rickman. I'm very much looking forward to it!

He is wonderfully creepy and evil.

He is wonderfully creepy and evil.

He is, but after 5 Harry Potter films, I just wish he'd branch out and do something else.  I fear it's his voice that keeps typecasting him.

One of my alltime fave films is Truly Madly Deeply - he was so wonderful in that, so noble.  [smiley=smitten.gif] I sob at the end of that..  Ditto Sense & Sensibility.

But he has!  In between the Potter films he's done Love Actually, Hitchhiker's Guide, and Something The Lord Made.  He's far from creepy in all of those. ;)

I've not seen the last two - or even heard of the last film. But again, he wasn't exactly a good guy in Love Actually though, was he??  :-\\\\  Poor Emma.

I saw him years ago on stage. He is really mesmorising to watch. You couldnt take your eyes off him - and that was before he became a household name.. I also saw him in Lacock while he was filming one of the Potter films. He was very kind and polite.  :)  Would love to see him snag an Oscar someday.....

The last one is actually very good, although I don't know if it counts since it was an HBO film. ;)  It's about Alfred Blalock and Vivien Thomas, the team that invented bypass surgery.  Alan Rickman with a southern accent!!

I'm jealous you've seen him on stage!  Lucky girl.

I finally saw Sweeney Todd last night and I loved it! I knew Johnny Depp and Alan Rickman would be marvellous, and they were, but I thought Helena Bonham Carter stole the show. She was beyond amazing.

Loved it, loved it, loved it!  ;D

Oh, long time ago... possibly '92? He was tango-ing on stage and very, very sweaty... ;)  And the woman he was dancing with, I saw later on after the play walking arm in arm with Helena BC, so they must be chums..
