And here I thought it was the smell of cooking fish....really stinks the house up.  I need to find a place with a good exhaust.  There is no way I'm cooking outside in the scottish weather.

Tilapia was the only fish I ate for two years in Africa. Just out of Lake Victoria fresh. They put a salty seasoned rub on it. No funky taste at all. Maybe the freshness of it make it that way?

Most likely.  And sorry, no idea where the stuff I have comes from.  Mr Madeira likes it.. and there's only a few pieces left.  Yay!  Vindaloo sauce worked well, as did a heavy coating of 'steak' seasoning.  I didn't like it much either way.. but it did cut down on the yick factor.
