Miracle Whip
« on: December 28, 2007, 02:36:12 PM »
I know most of you are in England and the mainland but yesterday I was in Supervalue and they had Miracle Whip. Although I don't use it all that often, I was in fact surprised to see it over here in Northern Ireland. If you have that shop near you, have a look. It was with the sauces. Strange to see it in that shop as I've never seen it anywhere else

I live in England and I saw it once at Tesco.  Bought some, and haven't seen in since :(  I prefer it to anything else on a sandwich.  However, Tesco does have some decent proper (not gherkin) pickles.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

Tesco in my area was carrying Miracle Whip for a while then just stopped selling it was a sad day in our house when I found that out. also Morrisons was carrying it as well Dh's Aunt was getting it for me when they were carrying but they haven't had any for ages that was another sad day in our house. so whenever Dh & I go back to the States that is one of the main items I get every trip back.

Are the pickels you are talking about Elliejean from Tesco's in large glass jar with a red lid an say American Giants XXL pickles on the jar? if they are they arent bad the best I have found so far here in the UK but nothing like a Valasic pickle though.  ::)  [smiley=disappointed.gif]

Well if anyone needs it, let me know. Problem with that is, I am sure the weight will make it costly for me to ship from here. I can and will do it though

Yep the very ones, Shugga!  They're pretty good, but don't mention Vlasics to me :)  In the US it's a Claussen or nada!

i found it in the world of food basement shop at house of fraser on corporation street in birmingham city centre. no idea how long they've stocked it or if it's just a one-off, but it makes my quorn bacon sandwiches very happy.

Yael, they have Miracle Whip in Lupe Pintos.
I've seen it in the Edinburgh shop, and usually they have exactly the same stuff in the Great Western Road shop.

I'll have to call and ask.  I've been there once (with someone who used to post on here actually!) and was pretty pleased with their selection.

Was it the SuperValu in the city center?  If so, I'm definitely making a trip to town!

I remember the first time I saw it at Tesco.  I ran to DH holding 3 jars.  He thought I had lost my mind.
