Wanting to move to the UK
« on: December 28, 2007, 09:41:28 PM »
I am married with 6 kids and we are wanting to move to the UK. What should we be doing to prepare for the big move?

How is the housing there?

How much should we save?

How does working in the UK work?

How do you establish credit?

What kind of things can prevent us in getting to the UK?

you're probably going to have to be a bit more specific.

What's your immigration situation (ie, are you british citizens, do you qualify for any visas, etc)?

Where in the UK are you thinking of moving to? Different areas have very different cost of living.

If you give a more detailed picture of your circumstances it's more likely that the members here will be able to help.   But if you just want the most general information (ie on building credit etc) do a search on the forum as all of these topics have been covered here over the years, often in multiple threads.

Hi dishmanbabes. Welcome to UKY :)

You might want to first introduce yourself in our Welcome Wagon board and then browse the other sections. Some of your questions may have already been addressed.

When you do post specific questions, please provide some background information so that the helpful folk here know where to start.

I second the previous post and would add that without more info, you'll have everyone answering your last question, based on the assumption that the answer will be:  lack of visas...that would be the number one preventative!

Hope you find all the answers you need on this forum.
