I was in Brugge last year on the 10th of December for my WLS. It was so magical there. David came for 1 night to help me get home and he loved it. There was a ice skating rink in the middle of the square. Would defo go again. Did a horse drawn ride around and it was so Christmasy!

I stayed at a LOVELY B&B right off the square and the price was SOOO reasonable. Very charming. The owner is really nice woman. The mother a bit off putting but I think cause it is she doesn't speak English. The rooms are very clean and modern. I stayed in the Zebra room for a few days and then when I got out of the hospital I stayed in the Olive Room.

Don't go in September as someone I know went then and she was mozzie bitten all over. Said they were horrendous then.

I know that the canal trips don't run in December/Jan, so check they run in March before you book.

I am dying to go to Bruges. I think DH and I are going to plan something for March. Is three days (Fri.-Sun.) enough time to see the main sites? I definitely think the brewery tour is a must, as well as a canal tour and some chocolate-tasting! Any other suggestions?

Hang out for a coffee/beverage in the square and watch life go by... although I recommend that for most countries.  ;)

Of course its pomme frites and seafood! Belgium is known food it's chocolate, waffles, fries, beer... cuisine. Yum.  ;D

I took my dad there at the end of March last year and the boat tour ran. Always double check though! The town centre is very walkable and just walking around the canals is nice too.

I'm not thinking this will make a perfect birthday trip in March for me and Hubby. Vicky, come with?
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"
