Anyone else getting married in 2008?

Inspired by the ILR in 2008 thread...just thought I'd see if there was anyone else on UKY (well, I know there is at least one other person!) planning a wedding this year!  I'm 18 October 2008 in Texas...going home for a visit in 4 weeks to do some hard core planning, hehe.  Any other brides or grooms to be?

We're supposed to be doing it in July, but we may bump it up by several months because we're both going crazy.

Vic and I are planning a 29 March wedding at the Leeds registry office. That, of course, is dependent on my visa coming through. I sent it last week. She's coming here in a couple weeks to see a reunion show of my old band, the we fly back to the UK together.

You don't even have to worry about the date being "backwards" that way!

Me too!  19 Oct., 08 in the States, and then a blessing and reception on 29 Nov. in Oxford, UK.  My fiance is on a flight back to LGW as I write this, but we got a good start on plans while he was here.  Booked a venue, and got the date confirmed with the bakery for a really cool wedding cake.  It's going to be a sort of mad-hatter type cake with crooked layers.  My fiance really loved it......he said that this cake looks like it's not meant to be this way, but somehow it works beautifully.....so it's just like us!  Awwwww.....

We are getting married May 4 in Napa California. I can't wait, I have been doing wedding stuff all week!  My favourite has been picking out all the sweets and candy we will have for the candy "bar" at the end of the night.  So far:

Next task - Wedding transportation.

Me too!  We're getting married June 6, 2008 (6-7-08 when done the American way ) in Gretna Green.  Will be a small religious ceremony in the water gardens of a local hotel with small reception dinner to follow.  Around 20 people attending, so no DJ or dancing or things like that - just ourselves for entertainment!

I've been really bad & do not have dress or anything like that yet.  We've booked the location (package deal - inclusive of all ceremony arrangments), reception, minister.  Have got our rings, but not done ANYthing else!

Cake is picked (M&S!), honeymoon is selected but not booked, and most of our guests have already booked their hotels & are making travel arrangments.

This thread should be fun!

Karin I love your idea of a candy bar at the reception...I just saw a wedding show on TV where they did that...it sounds fabulous
