I thought I'd be a June bride, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Glad I didn't book a hall or send out invitations....We'll probably wed about the same time...end of August. If you've ever seen Muriel's Wedding, I visited David's Bridal a couple of months ago and felt like I "did a Muriel"....tried on a couple of dresses and enjoyed being fussed over, like a real bride to be. But the questions really got me depressed...what's your wedding date? Don't know. How many bridesmaids? None. Where is the reception? No clue. I left feeling like a pathetic loser, and to make it worse, I got bombarded for weeks with emails and phone calls about everything from Tux rentals to honeymoon packages. Had to go through the same questions all over again. Apparently, David's Bridal gives your phone number and email address out to dozens of wedding related businesses. The latest one was a call about how I've won a bride pampering package from Mary Kay. This was the morning after I'd been up until 3am, doing the final sorting through all my docs. Let's just say it's highly unlikely that Miss Mary Kay will be getting back to me.
