ever get the feeling that you're being followed?
« on: June 10, 2002, 10:24:29 AM »
this weekend, sean & i went to reckless records in camden town.  i decided to buy an irresistably-priced Plaid cd.  i brought the cover to the counter, and a guy grabbed the actual cd for me, and i watched as he folded a note & put it in the case.  when i got out of the store, i opened the case to look at the note.  it said "sarah" on one side and "enjoy this!" on the other.   :o

what's going on?  i paid anonymously (in cash).  there's no way this guy knew my name.  ackgh. weird.  [smiley=anxious.gif]

Had you been there before? Could you have an admirer? Maybe he recognized you from elsewhere? That is strange! But rather intriguing!

Perhaps Sean had called you by name while you were in the store and the clerk just thought he was being flirty? I don't know... or maybe you forgot to take of your "HI My Name Is Sarah" nametag?

It's probably that.  Or maybe he saw your website and recognized you?  ???

as far as i can remember sean & i did very little chatting while in the store.  he rarely calls me by my first name, anyway.  to him i'm "cheeky monkey", "cheese doodle",  "square",  "cheezepuff", "chick machine", or "meow", but never sarah.

that is why the note took on a surrealism.  i was tempted to go back in and ask, but i thought i'd let it remain a mystery.  now i'm kinda wishing i had just asked.
