Cool! It's too bad the examiner at the test centre where you live was such a harda$$ - I bet you would've passed the first time.  ::) Good luck finding a car! How exciting! I keep trying to convince DH we need to get a Mini now that I have passed my test! LOL! Maybe one day when we aren't so poor from all those lessons and tests!  :P

I passed yesterday - took the test for the 2nd time. I was scared during the test because the first time, the examiner was quite chatty, but the second time (different test centre) the examiner was all business. I got 6 minors but who cares, it's the result that counts.

Now just waiting for the new pink licence - how long does this typically take? Excited!

I passed this morning!  First time; five minors.  He said one might have been a major.  I passed close, but there were cars parked on both side, no place to stop and bad views, so he decided it was a minor.

PHEW!

Yup, three weeks is what I was told.

Can we use the pass certificate to drive?

Good thing I passed because my theory expires on the 27th.  Nothing like waiting till the last minute.   :)

YAY to all of you and I hope this trend continues!

When you say the pink license, is this where you pay a bit more to have a full EU license or something? Kevin mentioned when I have a choice go pink?

Since the UK is in the EU, your UK license is an EU license and its pink with the EU stars in the upper left corner.   There is an international driving permit that you are traveling to a country that does not accept your UK license: http://www.theaa.com/getaway/idp/index.html

Yes, you can drive with your pass certificate, but dont need to keep it in the car or anything.  My examiner told me that if I were to get pulled over, just tell them the DSA has your license and they can look it up to see that you have passed your test recently.

Since there have been so many recent passes on this thread I thought I'd add mine. Passed today 1st time (well not actually first time... I spent £250 going back up to Aberdeen from England to take a test only to find out I need to take my paper licence with me) What a numpty! Am I the only one on these forums to do that? Paper licences don't make sense to me when you have the photocard. Oh well, it's out of the way now.... all I have to deal with is paying triple for insurance over what I paid with my US licence :(  Congratulations to all the other recent passes!!!
