Passed this morning at the Bolton Centre. I didn't take any lessons but I have been driving for over a year here and my wife gave me lots of good tips.

I can't believe at age 52 I was so stressed out over a driving test but I was, and it lived up to the hype. It was tough...

Now I can go back to driving like I'm comfortable with, not driving to pass a test  :)

Well done! It's such a relief when it's over.  :)

Much to my surprise, I passed today.  I am SO GLAD it's over and that I can get on with my life as a LICENSED DRIVER!!!

Thanks Jim!

I did automatic this time instead of manual which did make it easier.  I'm still amazed that I passed with only 3 minors.

I finally passed my test today, first attempt. Four minors, one for stalling the car - I never stall the car, but I guess I was nervous! I'm so relieved!

If anyone in Manchester is looking for an instructor, mine was absolutely fantastic. He's done the switch from driving on the right to driving on the left and really helped me make the mental switch quickly. Get in touch with me and I'll give you his number.

Passed on my first attempt.

If anyone's looking for an instructor in the Glasgow or Ayrshire area, PM me.  I can highly recommend my instructor.  Had about 10 hours of lessons with him over the past 2 days, then my test today.  He's worth his weight in gold!

Whew, so glad to report I passed my practical driving test today on my first attempt with 3 minors. One for barely hitting a curb when turning left and two for speeding (approaching 2 junctions a bit too fast).  This was one of the most stressful things I have done! More than once I came home from lessons in tears, completely overwhelmed. I took my test at the Hither Green test centre in SE London. I took 10 hours of lessons. If anyone needs an instructor around East or SE London, message me and I'll give you my instructor's info. He was awesome and had experience in training American expats.

Ok, it's not exactly on topic, but I had to share that my husband passed his California Written Exam today!  :D He said it was more difficult than his UK Theory test was. I wouldn't know as I never took the UK tests but I did have to take the CA Written 3 times before I passed it (I was only 15 at the time  ;) ).
