Congratulations!  :) Did you end up having to do the reverse around a corner?

Thanks!  No, I did the 3-point turn and parallel parking.  I was an instructor in the military (long time ago), and I can usually tell if an lesson or evaluation is going well.  After the first 5 or 10 minutes I was getting a positive vibe from the evaluator, and though to myself, "Don't screw up anything major and this guy will probably pass you."  I wound up with 5 minor errors.  :)

Oh I hope it's the same for me!  I'd much rather parallel park than reverse around a corner!

Opposite for me! I would rather reverse around a corner 100 times than parallel park. Couldn't do it in the US, can't do it here. Luckily i got the reverse around a corner on my test

Uggh, I had reversing around the corner and the parallel park!  I totally nailed the parallel park. I knew I would have that awful reverse around the corner though.  I hated it. I have to do it now every once and a while, but I  don't care now if you stay 1 foot within the curb while totally on the left side of the road at a slow- easy speed !

I didn't realize until just before the test that when you parallel park there's no third car involved.  In other words, it's just you parking your car behind a second car, as opposed to you parking your car between two other cars, which is how I had to do it back in Texas a million years ago when I first got my license.  With no car behind you and all the room in the world, parallel parking is a breeze! (For me, anyway!)  :)

Belated congratulations!

I've been here 2.5 years and after driving 2x with my husband I opted for public transport.  :o The streets are so narrow where I live and in my case the adage "you can't teach an old dog new trick" applies.

Congratulations!  :)

I did a "mock test" with my instructor on Friday and I was great on everything except that stupid reverse around the corner.  I feel like I'll never pass the real test even though I've been driving for 20 years.

Congrats nc73. Bet you're glad to put this behind you.

I did a "mock test" with my instructor on Friday and I was great on everything except that stupid reverse around the corner.  I feel like I'll never pass the real test even though I've been driving for 20 years.

Reversing around a corner was my Achilles heel throughout my lessons. I just kept over-correcting my steering, and ending up snaking down the road. Then the day of my test during the one-hour lesson before hand my exam,  I was suddenly amazing at backing around a corner, but hit the curb on my parallel park (having never done that in a lesson before). I really started to freak out. I was so happy when I got reverse around the corner on my test since it all came together in the end. Hope it works out for you, Tin!

I wasn't all that excited at first.  It took a few minutes to sink in.  BIG relief!  RRC is actually pretty easy if you use the wing mirror.  Adjust it right and you can see the curb as you're reversing.  Dunno how but I didn't have any trouble with it when my instructor asked me to do one for the first time.  I could have done with less lessons but I figured it will be worth it.  I spent 113 just taking the test (67+2hour for the instructors car).  8.10 on a Saturday morning helps big time!  Trust me!
