Weight Watchers UK
« on: January 10, 2008, 08:13:40 PM »
Hey I lost 100 lbs on WW in the US- but I've gained a bit back-
How is the WW UK program?  (Specifically online- I HATE meetings)

I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Sorry, just seeing this now.  Congratulations on losing 100 lbs!!!!  That is amazing.

I've just started WW here this week. (On-line, I don't like meetings either!)  It seems pretty much the same, except the food is different here.  I think you can join the forum for free, maybe check it out first to get a feel.

The only thing that seems different to me is that in the US you got a bunch of free points to use and you don't get that here.  (I did WW in the US this past summer and lost a stone)

Also, maybe it's me, but I feel hungrier here?  I'm not sure why?

The only things taken into consideration here when calculating points are calories and saturated fat. I remember in the US that fiber in foods helped reduce their points value. You still get points for exercise here.

I've lost over a stone on WW here so far. I am going to meetings though. I haven't felt hungrier, like Stacey. I tend to snack a lot though on 1-2 point things. I probably have more points than her. ;)

Give it a go! It seems very much like the US program to me. I'm sure you'll like it. :)

Thanks!
Surprisingly, I have been trying to attempt WW like the US version, and so far since trying I have lost 1/2 a stone in 1.5 weeks, which will of course slow down now that I have gotten past the initial loss.  So I think I will try the UK version for a bit and see if I like it.
Thanks for your help!

well, i'm about to join today too (online as well). I had done online in the US and it does suck to hear that fibre doesn't help. sticking some tomatoes on stuff can reduce a point in the US! Oh well. Maybe we should have a WW UK support thread.

I don't know anything about the US WW, but I have been very happy with the UK WW. I joined Sep 6, and have lost a little over 2.5 stone (40 pounds) so far.

I do go to meeting, and I use the online resources as well. If anyone is a member or planning on joining, I'd love to swap tips and recipes with you!
What if the Hokey Pokey is what it's all about?

There is a WW child board in Shrinkers.  So you can post there, I'd love that as well.
