But, to me, that's OK. I like her voice, so I'm fine with her having a distinctive sound and sticking to it. After all, it didn't do Bob Dylan any harm!  ;)
I agree.  I'm a huge Janis Joplin fan and she was the same way.  Unfortunately, AI doesn't always go for that.

Damn..Chikeze was so much better than the Ramiele or Syesha. At laest he had a personality...sad to see him go.

Random thoughts:

I love Dreadlock Boy, too, but Jason better do something, cause his song choices are getting worse every week-I almost agree with Simon that he doesn't seem to care about winning at all. I think he's very talented and different, but, like, do they drug test on that show? :P

David Cook is a genius-doing Chris Cornell's version of anything is awesome in my book. I'd buy David's album today-he is awesome!

Oh, and, Abby-I bought Hello, too! No shame in that-No, Sir. Heh, while we're being honest, I also bought some Constantine Maroulis songs. Ok, OK-if you must know, I went to see the AI tour before I moved here. But it's not like I held up a Constantine "I Think I Love You" (referring to the David Cassidy classic he performed brilliantly) sign or anything. That would just be sad.. :-[

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who just doesn't get what everyone else apparently sees in Archuletta. His voice is terrible, and he's either gasping for air or licking his lips crazily in between verses-it's so annoying! Devilboy.

But I thought it kind of was a well-known song. Am I wrong?? It's been used in episodes of about 4 TV series I can think of!

Yes, and anyone in the US should know the Buckley version(my fave) as it was played many times(hauntingly) during the 9/11 newscasts.

By the way, Chary, you crack me up! You remind me so much of my friend back home. In fact....Sylvia? :P

Television Without Pity is the most awesome website EVER...been my favorite for years. ;D

Hey Snupy, thanks for the link on carboy. How amazing for him!

More random thoughts...

I also liked Chikeze but his song choice this week wasn't very good, and I actually found his performance boring and forgettable (OMG I sound like Simon Cowell!  :o ) I'm sorry to see him go.

I'm probably one of the few people who actually knew the song that David Archuleta sang -- thanks to my friend in Australia who once gave me a copy of some John Farnham albums. I think he's got a great voice, I've never ever heard him go off pitch.

I really really love Brooke. She's got such a big smile and comes across as extremely professional. There are better singers in the competition but I still hope she does well and sticks around for awhile.

Michael Johns was finally good this week! Really enjoyed his performance.

Carly was good but Simon's right, she needs to lighten up. She looks way to serious when she sings.

Ramiele has GOT to be the next one to go!

David Cook -- fantastic (I've never heard the Chris Cornell version of that song)

Kristy Lee Cook was actually not bad this week. That was definitely a smart song choice, who'd vote her off after singing that?

Still not crazy about Syesha, she's a good singer but I'm not sure why I don't really like her.

Jason is really boring me these days.

And that's it for my opinion...this afternoon I'm finishing off recording my song for the AI songwriting contest and then I'll send it to them. Hey, what the hell. You have to be in it, to win it!  :D

Yes!!! The insane lip-licking!! What's up with that?!?!?

Do you know how happy you've just made me, snupy?? I'm proud to be a Leminghead.  :)

By the way, Chary, you crack me up! You remind me so much of my friend back home. In fact....Sylvia? :P

I hate to disappoint you, but I'm not Sylvia.

Gina, I'm pretty much in agreement with you on all the contestants.  :-\\\\

Why won't Dreadboy sing a good song!  Why? And the comment from the 18 year old was that she expects him to end everything he says with '....and I was SO high'.
That 16 year old boy just does nothing for me.  He's so Stage-school/parent pushed that it just REALLY turns me off.  Like all his true personality has been sucked out of him, which is really how I feel about Syesha too.
Ramiele needs to go.  She really does.

Gina-I agree with you about the Archuleta song. The original is Waaaaaay better:

Factoid that will make you all go "eew"(the part about Kevin Cobias picking up Ace Young's "leftovers")

Oh, and now that I have your trust, Chary...

Michael is MINE! ;)

Oh, snupy, you're so funny!

I meant to add that my very favourite moment of Friday's results show was during the Kimberly Locke segment. When they showed a clip of her performing back in season 2? SIMON'S HAIR?!?! GAAAAAH!!! Heeheeheehee!

Yep. What Mindy said.

I still love dreadboy, but the stoner thing is starting to bore me.

David Archepelago is the worst thing ever. I just hate him. But if you look at the boards on the AI site... I'm afraid little girls with no grammar or spelling skills love him. Be afraid.

Kristy Lee Cook was actually not bad this week. That was definitely a smart song choice, who'd vote her off after singing that?

Agree it was a smart song choice but for me... it's the reason I WOULD vote her off.  [smiley=bleck.gif]

Happy to see Jacuzzi go - it was inevitable. Maybe not my choice out of last night's performances but definitely in my top 3 to get rid of first!

Dh & I haven't ever been very keen on Dreadboy there is just something about him we don't like not to mention his song choices haven't done him any favors lately.

Neither of us likes David Archuleta he is another one we have never liked.

I liked Chikeze I thought he did a much better job the Ramiele.  ::)

I thought Michael & David both did an excellent job last night.  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

I like Brooke I always have.  :)

More random thoughts...

Dh & I both said thats why Kristy Lee Cook picked that song who would vote her off after singing that song.  ::)

I like Syesha but I think she needs to kick up a notch or 2. :)

I still cant believe Ramiele is still in an Amanda isn't!  >:(  [smiley=shout.gif]

Am I really going to be the first one to ask Anne why she's trolling the AI boards??  Are you the one posting as "ArchH8r"?  ;) ;D

Okay, I suppose that I'll give my rundown, too:

  • Kristy:  Well played, Kristy.  Enjoy it while you can.
  • Ramiele:  Why would you sing a song that Carly killed with during Hollywood Week?  Bad idea.
  • Carly:  Lose the bad clothes and bad hair.  And pick a decent song already!
  • David Cook:  Singing-wise, you're my favorite.  But please rethink the Caesar 'do.
  • David Archiecomics:  Please blow your nose before you sing.  And invest in some Chapstick.
  • Jason:  Duuuuuuuude.  Did you know that if you sync the beginning of Dark Side of the Moon and The Wizard of Oz they, like, totally work?  Wanna order a pizza?
  • Michael:  Thank you for finally doing well this week.  I still love you, but I was starting to get worried.
  • Syesha:  You can sing very well, but you still manage to be very... meh.  How is that?
  • Brooke:  You have nice hair.

But did you see his baby picture? He's obviously just doing anything to hide that great gourd of a head!

  • Brooke:  You have nice hair.

She does, doesn't she? My best friend in the US and I have decided we want to hang out with Brooke for a night - we could watch happy television, make lemonade and braid our hair!  :)

I think I failed miserably making my point.  That's kind of all I like about Brooke. :-[

Oh AN, I do love you.

In my own defense I did only have a very quick peek whilst trying to find out who the bottom three were. We watched half the performances last night, the rest this afternoon and then we'd reached our AI quotient and I just looked the results up.  :P

As for your rundown.... SPOT ON dude.  ;D
