Yes refried beans are pretty easy to find, most supermarkets have the OEP or Discovery ones. Morrisons also sells canned pinto beans should you want to make your own.

Whole Foods has refried beans.  :)

You can also get Old El Paso Refried Beans at Tesco, usually the bigger stores though.

They're also very easy to make. Heat up a can of black or pinto beans with a little bit of water, half an onion finely diced, a dash of cumin, a bit of salt and (optionally) a dash of chili powder. When it gets hot, add a little bit of veggie oil and roughly mash everything together.
Another shameless promotion for www.mclevey.com, the best place on the internet to buy art.

You have to have chili!

I know you're veggie but chicken wings are a traditional super bowl food.

I won't tell Dan that...I don't allow wings in the house (at least not while I'm there), and he loves them!

Wonder if you could make veggie hotwings with quorn?

Other dip ideas are french onion dip (great with veggies, crisps, etc) and the infamous spinach dip served in a bread bowl... will see if I can find a link for a recipe...
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

No Buffalo wings.... :o [smiley=bigcry.gif] [smiley=badlove.gif], sorry love wings and just kidding.

Mini burgers, little smoky sausages in BBQ sauce, and others have mentioned it but NACHOS!

Spinach dip is awesome with tortilla chips - and queso dip.

Great, now I'm hungry for this stuff.  ;D

Added late - sorry missed the vegetarian part. But you could do veggie burgers, ect.

We've done Superbowl night for years, I think I've watched everyone live since it first started being shown live in the UK in the early '80's.
Always book the following day off work, we take it in turns (amongst 3 of us, me and 2 couples) who hosts the evening - involves going to the pub on Sunday evening and then back to whoever's house in time for the game. My OH is coming over from NJ for her first trip to visit me (although been to UK before) and will be here at that time, so an interesting perspective on the Superbowl for her - she is a fan.
We have various nibbles, not necessarily American, but nachos and pizza always go down well. Although the best one was when the host had bought a few of the currys etc from the Asda curry bar....that was splendid! Normally manage to obtain a case of Sam Adams from Macro as well.

Lots of yummy ideas. A few more that come to mind:

Stuffed mushrooms
Pinwheels (super easy tortilla wraps made with a cream cheese mixture)
Fruit pizza appetizer/ or fresh fruit with dip
Veggie pizza appetizer
Anything with cheese; cheese ball, mozzarella sticks, cheese and crackers etc

I have to quit now, it's making me hungry  :P ;D

along the mexican line, maybe a taco salad would be good.

easy enough to do: just get an old el paso taco kit, cook up some quorn mince per package directions, then toss into a large bowl with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, diced onions, sliced black olives & crumbled tace shells. mix it all up & serve with salsa.

Did you decide what you're having yet Victoria?

Just thought I'd let people know, (just in case they haven't read their TV guide this week!) it's going to be shown live on BBC2.

It's all gone pear shaped...

-Dan made chimichangas on Tuesday, so I can't make them or chilli
-The supermarket had no nachos
-I have been remined that Monday is Dan's WW meeting, so I can't deep fry
- the supermarket also had no veggie hotdogs!

I think I might just combine the ideas from several other threads and make (American)pancakes all night!

 ;D
