OK.  I'll be the one to ask.  I can guess what canned cheese is but what on earth is canned bacon?

sorry, never heard of this... or canned cheese.  :-\\\\
Sugar packets - you can probably get those in bulk in a cash & carry, or at Costco?  I imagine that's where folk in the restaurant trade would get theirs.

SHE... ??? ;D

Naw, i am Scottish, living here in the South of the UK....I am a historical "re-enactor" and am looking for the modern quivalent of WWII U.S rations...Of which I have mentioned...

It is like trying to draw blood from a stone looking on the internet, but I have came up with some...

One is, "canned bacon" I read ye can get it in Alaska, a company from Hungary...also, the canned cheese, Kraft does one, but the actuall can is too big...

Costco haven't got anything I am after....

One option I have investigated would be to can my own stuff, but the can sealer I can get, cannot go down the to size I want... :\\\'(

You do realise it would have maybe made things easier if you'd said this at the start!  ;D
Still... even in that context, i've never heard of canned cheese or bacon.

Good luck... if these are WWII US rations, you'd be better talking to people who are in the US!

I think the sugar tablets/rectangular (cubes) are these ; http://www.dominosugar.com/products/dotsTablets.asp [nofollow]

I have been talking to people in the U.S....And they are looking out for me...however....

Just wondering if one can get them here in the UK...

The other stuff, reckon I can't....

Sugar cubes?
We have those here, dont we?
At my work they have sugar lumps instead, but im pretty sure sugar cubes are available too... i've never looked for them, though.

When you said this, i thought you meant paper packets that contain like a teaspoon of sugar, you know... like you get in restaurants, cafes, etc.

No....NOT cubes..they are RECTANGULAR...Dimensions are 3cm x 2cm x 1cm....I beleive they are "domino sugar tablets" as described in the link...To which I have emailed but they don't ship to here...Meaning to individuals...Like me, and presumably, you... ;)

One doesn't get them in our supermarkets here in the UK...One does get CUBES, but NOT rectangulars as I have described...

I am asking if anyone on this website knows if there are any shops here in the UK that specialise in U.S foodstuffs where I can get them?
