Meg's husband checks you out at the gym?!  :o

That's more likely than the idea of DH lifting weights!  ;D  Stacks of board games, maybe....

OMG - that soooo annoys me when the guys do that, especially if they're standing at the machine I need to get on, just wasting time doing it. ::)  I am so not there for THAT, and it just annoys the crap out of me! :P

Just got back from our 2 hour induction at Virgin. They give you a free 1hr personal training session when you join, and DH and I decided to combine ours and do it together, which was really fun! Added a bit of friendly competition to it. I'm really excited about my new plan. I tried some new machines and exercises, which should keep me busy. I'm just happy to be excited about the gym again. It had become such a chore.

They have a hula hoop class, and our trainer showed us some of the exercises they do. I think I'll definitely try it out. I haven't played with a hula hoop since about the age of 6, but it's a really fun and challenging core workout.

I had a new program done at the gym today my old program was only about 5 weeks or so old. but I don't think that program was right for me neither did 1 of the other instructors she said it was way to much weights an not enough CV. so my new program today is 90% CV & 10% weights this time. I felt more today out of 1 session than I did the first week of my old program & I'm absolutely knackerd. with this new program I can go 4-5 times a week where my old one I could only go 3 times a week. I'm still amazed about how much I still enjoy going to the gym not the same kind of joy as shopping but regardless I do like going to the gym. never in my life did I think I would say that an mean it.  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

I must be a glutten for punishment lol.  ::)  :P  I'm really enjoying my new program as much as you can enjoy a gym program lol. my instructor told me today that I look like I have lost some weight or I was toning up either one I was very pleased to hear  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]  because my last program I didn't feel like I was losing weight or toning up.

arrrrgh. I just found out on Monday that my gym (Tower Hamlets council gym) are cancelling my monday morning Boot Camp class! I've been going to it since the very first one 3 years ago and I've made so many friends...

I had to take a breather for a few days, but I've written a long letter to the person in charge of class scheduling asking them to reconsider. :(

Now I'm not sure what to do on Mondays. I loved that class because we did different things in it and I was guaranteed to work muscle groups I never knew I had, even though I run and lift weights all the time. I'd consider switching gyms but I've been a member there since 2003 and everywhere else is 2-3 times the price. :(

I just joined a gym last week, and so far I have been good...  45 minutes on the elliptical, weights, abs class, and stretching every weekday (yes, I still have too much time on my hands).  What I'm wondering is how to judge how much to push myself as far as cardio is concerned.  So far I have kept a close watch on my heart rate, and kept it over my target number for 45 minutes, but I feel like I'm going really slow!  I know I'm out of shape, but wow!  Does anyone else base their speed on heart rate?  Is it the way to go?

OK. I need to get motivated!

My goal is to work-out every weekday morning. I can go to the gym for an hour a day, so I can do 30 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of weights, and 10 minutes of stretching.

I'm going to start tomorrow and hopefully stick with it. Send some virtual motivating kicks in my a*se to keep me going!

Good luck, and keep at it!

I think one of the main problems I'm having lately is that I can't go to the gym in the morning. None of the gyms around me open early enough. Our current gym (which I otherwise love) opens at 6:45, which means that if I work out for an hour (which would be the minimum for me to get everything in) I wouldn't have enough time to get to work.
I never thought I would miss getting up at 5:30 to go to the gym!

I've been going at night and on the weekend, but with all of the events/visitors/after-work laziness, it means I'm only getting to the gym on average 2-3x a week, and don't feel like I'm getting anywhere.
