Stop and Shop is New Englandy, Schnucks is St. Louisy, Giant is east coast.  They are probably owned by the same chain anyway.

As many of you were helpful...I live near in a small town in southern Indiana but am quite close to Indianapolis, Louisville, Nashville or St Louis...any place we can find British food around here that you know of? My husband craves items more often than his mother sends them!

For Louisville and Nashville, you might want to try a Fresh Market store for things like sweets and jams.

Do they have Stop & Shop in any of those cities? Our big S&S in Providence, RI, had a whole section of British food.

Giant Eagle started an "International Foods" section which did actually have import foods, however its still weird finding clotted cream not in the dairy section...   :-\\\\  I know you can find Branston Pickle there.

I know, no one's mentioned it but World Market's another one you can find some imports...however they're more of a gimmicky import chain.  You really have to go into the shop to see what they really have to offer rather than go by their website.  I remember when DH found Vimto in World Market - made me laugh as that was when he decided living in the states would be tolerable 'cause he could still get Vimto (then I ended up over here instead).    :)

Wegmans (a mostly Northeast chain, but I think they are moving south and recently opened stores in VA) tend to have a large international section depending on the individual store.  I used to get Mr. Moggs PG Tips, his jams, those dry chocolate dipped peanut cookies, and other things there.  The cool thing about Wegmans is that if you ask for something that's not there, they will more than likely stock it, at least to see how well it sells.  International foods might be a bit harder for them than domestic ones, but from what I've seen, British food at Wegmans was actually cheaper than British food in London.

I can honestly say that the only retail store I miss in the UK is Wegmans.

I love Wegman's.  There cheese department is well better than any of the grocery stores here in Cambridge.
