Any advice?

I have been wanting to go for awhile now and BA's sale ends tonight.

I've never been fortunate enough to go but my cousin lives just outside Tel Aviv and told me it's a beautiful country and not to believe everything we see on TV.
I hope you go!

I'd like to go but having an Israel stamp in my passport would cause me trouble in visiting other countries i'd rather go to so I don't think I will end up going.  It looks beautiful though.

Went there in 2000 and it took my breath away. Still dying to go back. Jerusalem, Eilat and the Dead Sea swim are not to be missed.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

Second the places that Mort listed. Very beautiful country! I'd definitely go back.

Really? Forgive my ignorance but may I ask why it would cause trouble?

Some countries will not grant you a visa if you have an Israeli stamp in your passport.

Thanks for the feedback. Yay! I am getting excited.

I am aware about the stamp issue... to my knowledge it is only troublesome for people who want to enter countries that do not recognize Israel as a country. My passport only has a couple of breaths left so might as well go now. I am not likely to travel to Iran, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, Syria or Yeman in the next couple of years so I think I will be okay.

I agree wholeheartedly, and personally would never go to a country that engages in the practice. However, it is a legitimate concern for people contemplating a visit.

I do believe that you can ask to get a stamp on a separate piece of paper that can be pulled out of your passport for this very reason.

I know you used to be able to get your visa on a removeable page or a sticker that could be peeled off.  I am not sure if they do that anymore.

I just read that since 2006 Israel is more reluctant to do that.

I have heard that too. I would check with the Israeli embassy before travelling if this is important to you.
