I agree.
Brokeback Mountain was my favourite Ledger film. I remember when his character died in the film I burst into tears....j  :\\\'(
I think you're thinking of Jake Gyllenhall.  The film ends with Heath clutching an old shirt of Jake's and crying. It's a very touching end... :-\\\\

Such a waste. I doubletaked at the radio this morning..

Oh no! It sounds like in sleep deprived/pneumonia delerium he took too many pills.  That is terrible!

What do you take for pneumonia? I didn't know it could be deadly. I know most medications could be harmful, though, if not taken properly, so I guess it makes sense that you could die from just about any medication if you take too much (or mix it with the wrong things).

When I had pneumonia, my pharmacist said that the cough suppressant that I was on couldn't be combined with anything to aid sleep because of potentially fatal side effects.  He could have been on something similar and not told by a doctor or pharmacist not to combine the two.

You've always got to wonder with these 'accidental' overdoses, though.

I've had pneumonia, my mother has many, many times.  The supressant they give you depends on many things.

But the sleeping tablets they prescribe there tend to be far less of the sledgehammer approach they have here.

I've had sleeping tablets there as well, for insomnia.  You'd need to take A LOT.

And even when you're so, so ill, there's that survival instinct there - gawd, it's there even when you're very, very depressed - that thinks, 'This is too much.'

That's what's so strange.

I can't imagine there not having been any warnings of the danger of combining them, tbh.

It's all too Anna Nicole Smith/Marilyn Monroe.

Sad as hell.

They will release the autopsy results and we will find out what combination killed him.  It might be ruled a suicide.  People say that he wasn't that type of person, but, you don't always know, do you?  And he was alone, so, in actuality, we will never really know what happened.  Still, it is so very very sad.

Having worked in this area before, where there's such a death and no clear evidence of murder or suicide, the coroner will decree the death as 'accidental'.

As I wrote, I've been prescribed sleeping pills many times, and they're always warning you about them.  In the US, too, don't you get that leaflet from the pharmacy with your prescription?  You don't here, but my mom reminded me of it last month when they were here.  I'd forgotten.  My dad even gets it with his repeat hypertension prescriptions, he says it's CYA in case of lawsuits.

What a tragedy!

Oh, that's true.  I hadn't thought of that.  I still think it could be truly accidental because some people never read leaflets, like my father, (and we don't know if the prescription was obtained in the US or in the UK, where he had been working on a film), but, it could also be suicide.  Then again, it could be something totally random that they find (like an pulmonary ambulism or the like).  I am curious as to what the ME actually finds.

And I do agree that it does have this air of Marilyn Monroe about it...

He had been ''very into his current character'' role and hadnt been getting more than 2 hrs a night for a week.

This story was actually from when he was working on The Dark Knight last year.  He was shooting Terry Gilliam's film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus at the time of his death.

Poor Terry Gilliam.  I'm starting to think his films are cursed.

Maybe she should edit her post so it doesn't keep ruining the movie for others...

A report has said the autopsy is inconclusive. Articles I've seen have said he had numerous kinds of sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication, but no one has speculated on if a normal dosage of any of those things would cause a fatal reaction when mixed, or if they would be fatal if mixed with illegal drugs (supposedly his girlfriend broke up with him last year over drug use). It's very sad. He was one of the best young actors out there.

I've been sitting here at work all day, trying not to cry and keep thinking I'm mad cos I don't know Heath personally! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's having a tough time accepting his death.  What a tragedy  :\\\'(   Gonna go home and watch 10 Things...
