[MERGED]: Heath Ledger Dies/Dead

That's so much nicer than most of the other things being written about him. Also the first thing I've seen (apart from the Wikipedia article) written about Brad Renfro who passed away last week and happened to be one of my big celebrity crushes when I was a kid. With two talented young actors gone already, it doesn't give me a very good feeling about what the rest of 2008 has in store 

Here's an article that explains the Mary Kate Olsen connection mentioned in one article I'd seen earlier (they were dating), and describes what happened the afternoon Heath died. Supposedly, Mary Kate told the maid to wait for her security to come rather than telling her to call 911, which the maid ended up doing on her own later.

I personally think that there is so much speculation on all of this right now. I've done it myself.  And the media is only feeding the fire by publishing reports that turn out just as quickly to be false.  In the end, his friends and family were aware of his mental state and whether or not he participated in illicit drug use.  They knew how he lived his life, how devoted he was to his daughter, who he did or did not date, and other things that we all have no real knowledge of.  The only things that seem to be fact is that he was a very good person with loads of talent.  It makes me so sad to see him dragged through the press like this when he isn't alive to defend himself or his life.  The ME will hopefully find something that will give an answer when the toxicology reports are revealed and hopefully, it will be an answer that can end the media circus.  His poor family!

Apparently, he died of an accidental drug overdose.  After speaking to a friend who works in an ME office, she said they see this type of overdose often. And it is not the type that is intentional or that of a drug addict.  It is just a sad combination of someone who was both ill (pneumonia) and had anxiety/sleeping issues.  Very very sad.  I hope that the media can leave his family alone now.

I can't believe he was taking Xanax, Valium and Ativan along with Oxycodone.   

Me either.  Even in small doses that is one whopping combination of drugs. 

Now matter how he died, it's just so very sad.  But at least his family can feel some peace knowing it was not intentional.   

In some ways it makes it even sadder that it was an accidental overdose. The family has been saying all along that they knew it wasn't intentional, now they have the exam on their side and hopefully the media will leave them alone.

I'd say the pharmacist. If he got it filled at the same place,then it would've shown on their screen about the combination

I think I read somewhere that some of the prescriptions were written and filled in different countries because of his filming locations. Maybe that's why he got such a bad mix of drugs. You'd still hope he was warned about the dangers of those drugs taken together.

Yes, I believe I also read that he had been here in the UK filming and some of the meds were from here.
