I need the website for the sports bra I had to cross my arms when I was doing body combat yesterday to stop the girls from bouncing.

I ordered mine from figleaves.com.

ETA: This is what I bought http://www.figleaves.com/uk/product.asp?product_id=ENE-66996110

I had a great run this morning at the gym - I ended up covering 12.25km (in about an hour of running) and I beat my previous best 10k time with 53.13! Fingers crossed that adding to my weekly mileage will help bring it down a bit further before May. :) I'm trying to increase my long runs to 15km each but this is the farthest I've gone so far...

I just signed up for a lowkey and friendly 8k in March as a bit of a warmup to the big, populous and kinda scary 10k so hopefully I can work out any problems in the 8 so I'm ready come the 10. At least that's what I'm hoping, anyway. I've only ever done one 5k and that was really shoddily organised with no spectators and a huge distance between me and the runners before and after me so I'm keen to get a more typical race experience!

I think it's time to revive this thread!

My 10k was yesterday and I had a really good time, despite the POURING rain and cold temperatures. The route went around all of London's big attractions - Horse Guard's Parade, Big Ben, the Embankment, Royal Exchange, Leadenhall Market, St Paul's, Whitehall, Trafalgar Square, and finally ended on the Mall in front of Buckingham Palace!

I was aiming for a 54 minute finish, but I ended up crossing the finish line on the Mall at 51:13, which is a good 2 minutes faster than my previous personal best! Clearly the raindrops gathering on my eyebrows and squishing wet toes clearly spurned me forward towards that vision of a hot shower... :)

What's everyone else been up to?

That is awesome expecially considering the weather yesterday!  Good for you!  I couldn't even motivate myself for my usual 2.5 miler yesterday :-[

I recently started running and it's taken me a long time (almost 5 months) to get to the point where I could run for 30 minutes continuously, because I'd get shin splints.  I slowly learned to take it easy and not push myself so hard.  I'm the kind of person that likes to hit the ground running (lol), I don't like to start out anything slow, I hate being a beginner, so I push myself way too hard.  Anyway, last week I met my mini-goal of running for 30 minutes continuously.  I don't really have any racing goals though.  I'd just like to get to the point where I run about 30 minutes most days and then a longer run on Saturdays or something.  But then, I should know myself better than that, I'd be bored without some higher goal... we'll see.

I started running a couple of months ago to lose some weight and try to make a life-habit of it. I am really proud to say that yesterday I completed my first 5K in the Bath Race for Life! It was a really great atmosphere and I reached my goal of running it through and not stopping to walk! I'd like to keep up with entering races because it keeps me motivated to run when the weather is rainy or when I feel like I'd rather be eating biscuits!  ;D

That's fantastic!

Unfortunately, my running hasn't been going well.  With my exams, ILR application and general laziness, I haven't been out much.

I run 4.5 miles three days a week and usually walk the same 2 days a week.  I wish I could say my running is that much faster, but I walk quickly so 50 vs. 55 mins.

Oh well, hopefully I'll get a little faster.  I thought I did yesterday, but I forgot to check the time when I left work. Booo.

hey, well done, alchemista!

I find I'm a lot more motivated and focused when I have a race to look forward to. Unfortunately my boyfriend doesn't really enjoy standing in the rain for an hour taking photos when I pass by so I have to restrict myself to one or two a year!

Does anyone run with any hash harrier groups? If the weather's good I'm hoping to go along to my local group's run on Tuesday. And my boyfriend is over the moon to spend my running time waiting in the pub instead!

Do any runners have suggestions for making the switch from running on the treadmill to running outdoors?

I started running on the treadmill last year (as a challenge, as I hate running, and prefer just about any other type of cardio) and got to the point where I could run for 30-40 minutes. I still don't like it, but I can at least do it. However, I can hardly run down the block when I'm outside without getting tired and bored.

A lot of people have told me that they much prefer running outside, and I hold this hope that it would make me actually like running, but I just don't know how to make the switch. It could also potentially save me money on the gym.

I do run with a 1.5-2.0 incline on the treadmill, but perhaps it should be more?
