Every year I put an 'ad' on here just in case I can tempt another Londoner to join my cricket team...
I moved here 3-1/2 years ago and had never seen a cricket match in my life. I met a few people who convinced me to join a new ladies' cricket team. Many of the people had never played or only had one year's experience. As someone who had played softball and field hockey, it wasn't too difficult to learn - it does take some decent hand-eye coordination.
We're still a team in development - we have a group that plays in the more competitive league and a group that is made up of people who are either beginners or who don't want to play competitively. We're trying to get new people to join every year.
So if you would be interested in learning to play cricket, we're currently doing a batting & bowling (pitching) practice every two weeks indoors. We have several coaches from the mens' team who are VERY patient and lovely. You don't have to know a thing! And the best thing is that the players are quite social and friendly. Please PM me if you are interested, and I'll pass on details!
