black beans in a can

I know this is weird but does anyone know where I can buy black beans in a can here?  I've found them dry but never in a can.  And I miss them!

(PS Somewhere in Bristol would be ideal!)

Somebody posted the other day they saw them at Tesco.  Also try health food shops and there are several online shops that sell them eg Mexgrocer.co.uk

The Waitrose in Bath has them. The brand is Epicure.

Scoop Away on Gloucester Rd might have them in a can, I buy them dried there.

I've never found them here.  I would be happy to even find dry beans.

What about pintos?  Has anyone found them somewhere other than online--in tins or as regular beans?

Morrisons has canned pinto beans under their own brand label. I have also seen the Epicure brand at the Co-op.  Dried pintos can usually be found at health food shops.

By the way, try Carribean shops for dried black beans if you can't find them elsewhere.

I buy tinned pinto beans at Sainsbury's.

I've gotten the Epicure black beans at Waitrose and they're pretty good - but I'm spoiled, used to getting them already spiced "Cuban-style" in Florida.  I have to cook them down a bit and add cumin and garlic and onions and stuff to serve over rice - but to use in recipes they've been a godsend.

I've never had a problem finding pinto beans in a can at either Tesco or Sainsburys.

We don't have a Waitrose convenient to us but I have seen the Epicure black beans in small independent 'posh' delis and grocery stores.

I usually shop at (a very small) Tesco, Co-op, and a couple of health food shops. I've had no trouble finding pintos, either dried or tinned. Tinned black beans are pretty easy, too--but for dried I have to take two buses to Sainsbury's.

I've gotten pintos at the Weston Tesco, Morrisons, and Sainsburys. Haven't found black beans at any of them, though.

I also had a very frustrating time finding something like great northern beans. The best I found were haricot beans, which were a little smaller than I wanted.

I've been meaning to get Tesco's dry bag called 'Exotic bean mix'. It looks like it might be a mixture of the types of beans I used in one of my soups back home.

I was looking for black beans in a can last week too, in the end I had to buy the dry ones and soak them over night. They were fine, just more time consuming!

I think the ones that I've seen at Tesco are the epicure ones. They say they aren't salted so I'm hesitant to try them. Whenever I have to add it they never taste right. None the less  they seem to keep them with the health and gluten free products in my store

I miss the black beans for making chili. Wish we had a Waitrose  :\\\'(

I've yet to find black beans, but bought dried pinto beans from Tesco.
