Hooray for pinto beans!  ;)  ;D

You know I often make us up a pot of pinto beans something along the following lines:  whole (not mashed) pinto beans, salt pork (bacon, ham, etc), onion, garlic, beer, chili, cumin, coriander/cilantro, lime & whatever else strikes my fancy to put in them.  I like to used the dried beans if I can source them, but if not, tins of pinto beans work fine too!  I do not mash them, however, I'd prefer to eat the beans soft but whole.  I don't call them refried beans - cos they're not mashed & they're not fried or refried.

I wouldn't put refried beans in it cos that would defeat the purpose of making something with whole pinto beans it it.

It's yummy - I guarantee! :D

Apples.. applesauce.  Pinto beans.. refried beans.  Tomatoes.. spag bol.  Potatoes.. mash.

God I love this place.
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…
