I am so offended by this thread!  You guys keep making fun of all that I hold dear.  My Americanisms.  My cooking.  The way I talk.  I can't handle it!  Even if Wiki says I'm right!
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

That's what Wikipedia says, and they'd never lie.

Oh come on, they're full of gas.

Great. Now I'm thinking of that Hovis commercial with the list of what each slice was used for.

But what about Baba Ghanoush?
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

But what about Baba Ghanoush?

When I was at university, my friends and I made up a song about Baba Ghanoush to the tune of the Beachboys' 'Barbara Ann'.

And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

Has anyone seen that advert for Heinz Baked Beans in a microwaveable pot?

It's like the size of the wee tin, but now you don't even have to bung it in a bowl!

Just pop the lid like you would some Pot Noodle, bung the toast in the toaster, get out the brown sauce, and voila!  Beans on toast.

Yes I saw that, student food! To be honest I am surprised you can't already buy frozen, microwaveable beans on toast!!

I thought the micro beans were a good idea. Adam thought they were stupid and a big generator of garbage. (Unusual, since I'm usually the one more worried about waste.)

I think he just got in a mood because of the music that was playing, though.
