Do we get money back too?

If this tax rebate thingy passes in the US, do us Americans living outside the US qualify too?

It's based in part on what you owed in 2006 and what you will owe in 2007.  Most overseas taxpayers owe nada because they're getting lots of tax breaks already for being overseas.  If you owe nada, you gets nada.  Unfortunate.

Maybe I'll be lucky then because I came half way through the year last year so I actually got back a sizable refund.

There is a trick to the legislation so that if you file your 2007 return correctly you can arrange to get a refdund even if you are overseas.   You may want to speak with a tax adviser on this...

The news last night said they had reached a compromise and that it could be on Bush's desk for signing by next week. Since we are going to America in April it would be nice...I even promise to spend it there to help the US economy like they want. LOL!

I saw online today that the $300 per child is for those under 17.  Mine is 17, so I'm probably out of that much luck.   :\\\'(
